Key Information

Day 1

Arrival in Hanoi

Welcome to Hanoi! Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the Camp team at the airport, before heading off with your new friends to check into your accommodation base for the next few days. With an epic fusion of French, Chinese & Vietnamese influence, you’ll be sure to love the area. Enjoy your Welcome Meal with other Campmate. Finish the evening with a few drinks down the famous Ta Hien Beer Street, the street that ‘never sleeps’ – it’s the perfect way to get to know your new travel buddies and immerse yourself in Vietnamese culture!

Day 2

Hanoi Like A Local

Time to explore Hanoi like a local, enjoy both a walking and cyclo tour weaving through a maze of 36 trading streets filled with colorful goods. As the oldest area of Vietnam, Hanoi’s Old Quarter has a history that spans 2,000 years and represents the eternal soul of the city. On the tour, we’ll visit some historical features of ancient Hanoi, such as the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, Hoa Lo Prison, and the option to visit Train Street. These places are an Instagrammer’s heaven, with plenty of architectural landmarks, parks and natural landscapes to photograph – we visit all the hotspots on this jam-packed day!

Day 3

Hanoi - Ha Long Bay

Everyone’s favourite days! It’s time to explore the world renowned HaLong Bay! Today we’ll drive from Hanoi and you’ll have 1 night sleeping on a boat surrounded by Unesco World’s Heritage landscape. This globally-popular location, where mountains shoot up from out of the sea, hosts some of the most stunning Asian sunsets and sunrises! So grab a beer, sit back, take in the views & get working on that tan! Today will be all about the leisurely vibes as junk boat & kayak your way around Halong Bay – the views don’t get much better than this. Prepare for 2 days in paradise!

Day 4

Ha Long Bay - Hanoi

Get up early for the amazing sunrise in Ha Long Bay! Breakfast will be served while we cruise toward one of the famous caves in the Bay. Explore the cave, learn about its mythical stories, then we come back to the cruise for a Cooking demonstration. Check out at 10:30 and travel to Ninh Binh. With remarkable memories in tow, you’ll embark on a picturesque road trip to Ninh Binh, taking in the stunning landscapes of northern Vietnam along the way, traversing through captivating landscapes and picturesque countryside vistas. Spend a serene night in a cozy homestay, immersing yourself in the warm hospitality of local culture.

Day 5

Ninh Binh - Trang An Complex

Embark on a day trip in Ninh Binh, discovering the stunning landscapes of Trang An complex, exploring caves, and cruising along serene waterways surrounded by lush greenery. Ninh Binh is one of the most stunning places in all of Vietnam. Spend 2-3hrs exploring the breathtaking Trang An Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you’ll journey through enchanting waterways and explore the breathtaking caves. After lunch, get ready to hike! Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Mua Cave in Ninh Binh with its panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, then head back for some lunch and chill before we embark on a night train adventure to the imperial city of Hue for an unforgettable journey through the heart of Vietnam.

Day 6

Hoa Lu - Tam Coc

Embark on a captivating day trip from Ninh Binh to Hoa Lu and Tam Coc, an expedition into Vietnam’s historical and natural marvels. Explore the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, soaking in the rich history amid ancient temples and captivating ruins. Venture through Tam Coc’s stunning karst landscapes, gliding along serene waterways flanked by verdant rice paddies and towering limestone formations, experiencing the beauty of Vietnam’s countryside. Conclude this enriching day with an overnight cabin bus journey departing at 20:00, heading towards the mesmerizing landscapes of Phong Nha, promising an adventure amidst its captivating caverns and natural splendor.

Day 7

Phong Nha Ducks & The Dark Cave

Arrive in Phong Nha around 5AM and check in to your early room for a short rest. Set against the backdrop of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, this destination offers an adventure-filled experience with its captivating caves and picturesque landscapes. At 10AM, get picked up for an amazing day which is very probably the most ‘Vietnam’ experience: The-Duck-Stop local farm. It is literally a local duck farm, the family that owns the farm is very friendly and welcoming. When you arrive they will give you peanuts and a beer.
Then you go into the duck pen, feed the mass of ducks that live on the farm. This sounds crazy, but trust us it’s the most wholesome, authentic and random experience you can expect to have. They also have a Water buffalo they rescued from Hard Labour called Donald Trump…try local food on the farm with the local family. You’ll come away with sore cheeks from laughing too much today. After the local meal, go back to the hotel, get your swimsuit for another unforgettable adventure – the Dark cave! Get a minivan pick up and our local guide will lead you to Phong Nha-Ke Bang area, one of Vietnam’s largest National parks! Zipline into the Dark Cave, get down and dirty in the Mud baths, and grab a kayak and a dip in the lake with several adventurous water games! Later head back and we recommend maybe relaxing with a stone massage nearby the hotel or heading out to nearby restaurants and bars for some drinks then get a good night’s sleep after a long day.

Day 8

Phong Nha - Da Nang - Hoi An

Good morning! Enjoy the train ride this morning and make sure you won’t miss the part when it goes through Hai Van Pass! The View from the window is stunning! Around noon time we arrive to Danang Train Station. Meet your driver and get transferred to Hoi An. You can keep yourself busy for the rest of the day exploring the local area.
By night, the city is lit with hundreds of lanterns which is really beautiful and picturesque. After settling down and rest for a while, embark on an enriching afternoon trip in Hoi An, where the iconic basket boat ride awaits. Glide through tranquil waters, exploring the serene channels surrounded by lush greenery in a traditional circular basket boat, learning about the local fishing techniques along the way. Immerse yourself in the charm of this unique experience, filled with cultural insights and picturesque views.

Day 9

Hoi An Foodie Tour

Experience the culinary delights of Hoi An on a captivating foodie tour. Stroll through vibrant markets and alleys brimming with local delicacies, savoring an array of street foods and authentic dishes crafted by skilled artisans. Indulge in flavorsome banh mi sandwiches, aromatic noodle soups, and delectable local snacks, complemented by refreshing beverages like coconut coffee or fresh fruit smoothies. Immerse yourself in the bustling ambiance, discovering the rich tapestry of Hoi An’s gastronomic wonders.

Day 10

Eco Project Volunteering

Now it’s time to make a difference in the local community. Spend the morning cycling through the countryside where we will start collecting plastic and trash that has been dumped all along the countryside roads. The route is approx 5 km, you’ll finally arrive at the art space where we are cultivating the recycling artworks. An ecobrick is a plastic bottle packed with used plastic to a set density.
They serve as reusable building blocks. Eco Bricks can be used to produce various items, including furniture, garden walls and other structures. This project not only helps to clean the riverbank but also builds a good amount of eco bricks that can be used for construction in Quang Nam province remote areas, and used to build playgrounds, schools and more.

Day 11

An Bang Beach Day

Annnnd relax, today is a free day to chill. Spend your day at An Bang beach and pop round the town for delicious Vietnamese cuisine. Hoi An is definitely a place for foodies, the most popular dishes here are: wontons, banh mi baguettes and prawn dumplings. If you’d rather another action packed day, speak to one of our reps and they’ll be happy to help organise something, they are the experts after all. You could go on a snorkeling tour at Cham Island, which is just an hour’s speedboat away from HoiAn. Or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, Hoa Phu Thanh White Water Rafting in Da Nang is a lot of fun! Going to Ba Na Hills and see the Golden Hand Bridge might as well be an option.

Day 12

Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City

Spend the morning packing and get ready to see another part of Vietnam: The Southern Mekong area. Get transferred to the Train station for the journey down to HCMC.

Day 13

HCMC - War Museum & Walking Tour

Rise and shine, it’s an early start at the train station in HCMC, aka Saigon. Once arrived, you’ll have a transfer waiting and you’ll head straight to the hotel. Unpack, chill and get ready for this afternoon – a walking tour to the War Museum, Saigon’s Cathedral Church and old fashioned Post Office. You’ll have worked up an appetite by now so a trip around the Saigon Food court should do the trick, street food heaven!

Day 14

HCMC Phnom Penh - By Bus

Goodbye Vietnam, Hello Cambodia! Let the second half of your Camp adventure begin. We’ve got a 6 hour journey to Phnom Penh, so make sure to have your passport and visa letter ready (Cambodian visa costs not included). In the addictive mayhem of Cambodia’s capital City you will have free time to carry on your explorations. We recommend snacking, sipping and slurping your way through the city because the local cuisine is incredible – have a wander around the bustling city before settling down for the night and a jam-packed next few days!

Day 15

Phnom Penh Tour

Fill your boots at breakfast at the Phsar Kandal market because there’s a full day of walking ahead. Next stop, the old French Quarter – home to fine colonial architecture and gorgeous restored buildings. On to Wat Phnom Buddist temple, Raffles Hotel – the old pot building, the disused train station, and Cambodia’s largest market. We’ll learn about the horrific Khmer Rouge rule by visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. It was once a high school and was then converted into a detention and torture centre, it now educates people about this dark time in Cambodian history (not for the faint hearted!). At the end of the day we’ll head back to the Base Villa and you can spend the rest of the evening relaxing.

Day 16

Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

Today is a free day and you’ll take the bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Upon arrival you can check into the guesthouse and spend the rest of the evening with your fellow Campers. We recommend trying a few of the local cocktail bars and street food markets! Prepare for an early rise tomorrow morning for an epic day ahead visiting incredible Angkor Wat!

Day 17

Angkor Wat Sunrise & Tour

The 4:30am start is definitely worth it for the sunrise at the temples of Angkor. The Angkor Archaeological Park is visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking and one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia if not the world. Considered one of the seven wonders of the world, we arrive at Angkor Wat in time to see the sun rise over the water and temples. It’s one of mankind’s greatest achievements, and the intricate carvings demonstrate the skill of the Khmer builders. Cameras at the ready, prepare to be amazed by this incredible sight!
After sunrise, it’s time to explore the jungle temple of Ta Prohm which is particularly amazing in the early morning when all you can hear are the sounds of the jungle, before the crowds arrive. There’s an optional 1k walk from the South Gate of Angkor to a hidden temple, but if you don’t fancy that, there’s the temples of Bayon, Baphuon, Terrace of Elephants and Leper King. After the most amazing day exploring, the evening is yours to relax or head out for some dinner.

Day 18

Community Volunteering Project

The local community at Angkor Kreav are extremely poor, have no access to English Teaching, basic health checks and currently the community has no communal area to shelter from the sun. So, after breakfast, we’ll depart to the project site where you can help shape the future of the community and improve the lives of the people in Angkor Kreav. Community work may include teaching in the local villages or construction work (activities may vary depending on the needs of the community & time of year).

Day 19

Volunteering Continued

At the end of the day we’ll head back to the hotel for some well deserved rest and drinks. Enjoy one final squad meal before the Camp wraps up. Say goodbye and make plans to reunite soon – Camp Thailand, perhaps?

Noibai (HAN)

We recommend arriving between 9am – 5pm on day 1 so you can meet your local guide in the arrivals hall. They will be wearing Camp t-shirts and will be holding a sign (You can’t miss them!). If you can, we think arriving earlier rather than later on the start day is better to allow for some down time at the hotel before the orientation and evening activities.

If you do not arrive in the selected window, you will be responsible for making your own way to the accommodation. Your local guide will be able to advise on this in the group chat. If you are planning to arrive a day earlier and want to stay near the airport in a hotel at your own cost just let us know and you can come back to the airport for the pickup window.

Ends

Siem Reap Angkor International (SAI)

On the last day of Camp we recommend a flight after midday, we have a final night out so give yourself time to recover and make sure you have time for any onward travel arrangements. Remember you’ll need to check-in at the airport 2-3 hours prior.

When confirming one of our tours, you will be responsible for booking your own flights. We do this to provide you with the most flexibility on where you fly from, and also so you can find the best price for your journey.

Whilst flights aren’t included in the base price, you can request a quote from our flights partner Skylink here.

If you need any more assistance, you can contact us:

Since each of our tours visits different places, the accommodation you will be staying in will vary.

The accommodation section above will cover more detail, but all the partners we use have been hand selected by our expert tour planners, using their extensive knowledge of the areas to ensure the quality of your stay will be fantastic.

Whether you’re a first time traveller or an experienced explorer looking for your next adventure, just as long as you’re 18 or over, you can join us on Camp.

The average age is 18-28 but we also welcome many travellers in their 30s. There is no maximum age limit, so if you’re still young at heart and up for an adventure like no other then join us.

Yes, Wi-Fi is available, whether it be in a communal area or in your room. However, we try our best to ensure that Wi-Fi is available in most areas of your accommodation. We now provide a free eSIM as part of your booking, so you’ll never have to worry about staying connected!

This varies depending on the programme. Check the schedule section above on this trip page to see which meals are included.

There is an abundance of inexpensive, fresh and delicious food from the many food stands and small family restaurants. On the days where a meal isn’t included, we recommend trying the local street food!

For about £2 per kilo, local laundry services will wash your clothes early morning and return them washed and neatly pressed the following afternoon.

Our programmes are fun-filled and action-packed but but don’t worry, you’ll still have some free time to relax or explore on your own. Your guides will be able to recommend some great activities and places to visit.

Certainly, with so many amazing places in both countries, we encourage this! Each member of our team is well-traveled and have visited the area many times, so we are always happy to give you travel advice. If you want to book onto another tour to continue your travels, just let us know and we’ll even offer you a discount!

This can really vary. Both countries are relatively cheap, and it depends how well you can, or need to budget. There are also opportunities to do additional activities which you may want to get involved in. For further advice contact our team and we can help you come up with an idea how much you will need to budget for.

Definitely! You will be making friends from the moment you land, friends you will keep for life after sharing such an amazing experience.

You will receive a packing list as part of the ‘Pre-Departure Pack’ which you will be sent after booking, but here’s just a few items we recommend taking;

  • Sun cream
  • Plug adapters
  • Power bank
  • Travel towel (perfect for the beach!)
  • A camera to capture all your amazing experiences

The choice is yours, but a backpack is definitely more suitable for travelling around Vietnam & Cambodia. Plus, you don’t want to look like a starry-eyed first time traveller dragging around a heavy suitcase, looking like you just landed at a 5* resort in Europe!

Passport: A full passport valid for the duration of your stay is required. Please check that you still have at least 6 months left in your passport from the time you arrive in Vietnam.

Visa: Please make sure you read the latest travel advice before you go!

Personal Insurance, covering the time you will be away plus any activities that you will be undertaking, as well as any planned travel to other countries.

An Enhanced DBS Check. We’ve made this easy for you – you can book this with us once you have secured your place. If you are coming from another country you will need the equivalent local police check.

We embrace and celebrate diversity in all its forms. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where individuals of every background, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, and identity feel welcomed, respected, and valued. Through our programmes, policies, and values, we strive to foster empathy, understanding, and solidarity among our community members, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive and contribute their unique perspectives to our shared experience.

With our flexible booking policy we can move your trip date to another date within the same year, just make sure to let us know at least 2 months in advance! You can even change your Camp location if you fancy.

If you wish to cancel you can check out our T&Cs HERE!  You’ll need to let us know via email as soon as you can if you can no longer travel.

We advise getting travel insurance to cover any unexpected events resulting in you being unable to attend camp.
